Barbara Riner

Barbara Reeves Riner, 54, passed away on Friday, January 23, 2026 at University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson following a brief illness. Born on May 23, 1971 in Monroe County, she was a daughter to Marvin and Dorothy Smith Reeves. For many years she worked in the furniture industry, and she was married to Chuck Riner on September 11, 2020. She could light up a room and was full of vigor. She was a friend to everyone and loved a cook-out and going to the tanning bed. Singing karaoke and dancing was a favorite hobby and she was a devoted wife and mother who doted on her granddaughter. In years past, she attended Wildwood Baptist Church and currently attended Bartahatchie Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, January 27, 2026 at Bartahatchie Baptist Church with Bro. Jonathan Goodin officiating. Burial will follow in the McDuffie Cemetery.

She is survived by her husband, Chuck Riner, Hamilton; her mother, Dorothy Reeves, Bartahatchie; her daughter, Halley Trease (Cameron), Tupelo; 4 brothers, Wayne Reeves (Sherry), Ricky Reeves, Jimmy Reeves (Carol), Jessie Reeves (Cindy); granddaughter, Alice Trease; and special friend, Teresa Reeves.

She was preceded in death by her father; and her sister, Pattie Jo Reeves.

Pallbearers will be Wayne Reeves, Earl Humbers, Alan Wayne Taylor, Garrett Witcher, Tyler Witcher, and Nathan Reeves.

Visitation will be from noon until the service time on Tuesday at the church.
