Barbara Ann Smith

Barbara Ann Smith, 71, of Aberdeen, Mississippi passed away on May 17,  2024

at Sanctuary Hospice in Tupelo, Mississippi after a long battle with Alzheimer's.

She was born November 24, 1952, in Caracas, Venezuela to the late Eulis Stanton Smith, Jr. and the late Anita Ann Wilke Smith. Barbara was a 1970 graduate from Aberdeen High School. She was a lifelong, faithful member of St. Mark United Methodist Church and loved the Lord dearly. She was also a dedicated, hard-working employee to Eutaw Construction in Aberdeen for twenty plus years.

Barbara's greatest accomplishments were her two daughters, Misty and Hannah. Her heart belonged to her children and grandchildren, and she loved and sacrificed greatly for them. She was a constant source of love, support, and guidance in their lives. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Barbara is survived by her daughters, Misty Pitts (Mitchell) of Madison, MS.

Hannah Long (Shad) of Pontotoc, MS. Her four grandsons, Nicholas (Laurel) and Zachary Pitts, Carson and Caleb Long. Great-grandsons, Walker and Warren Pitts.

Her brother Melford Smith and her lifelong sister-friend Brenda Stanley.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Wade Smith.

Funeral Services will be held at 1 PM on Monday, May 20, 2024 at Tisdale Lann Memorial Funeral Home in Aberdeen with Bro. Kenneth Corley officiating.  Burial will follow in New Prospect Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Shad Long, Carson Long, Caleb Long, Nicholas Pitts, Zachary Pitts, and Christopher Smith.

Visitation will be held prior to the service on Monday from 11 AM until 12:45 PM.

Special thanks to all the angels who helped care for her at Generations Senior Living, Landmark Lifestyles, NMMC, and Sanctuary Hospice. The kindness and compassion shown to her this past year is truly appreciated. God is the ultimate healer, and she is now resting in His loving arms.
