Betsy E. Willis

Betsy E. Willis, 80, passed away on October 31st, 2026, at The Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus, MS. She was born on September 5th, 1946, in Aberdeen, MS to the late Marvin and Reba Mae English. She graduated from Aberdeen High School and later went on to become an assistant teacher for Aberdeen Schools. She also worked as a Deputy tax assessor in Monroe County. She was a faithful member of Aberdeen First Baptist Church. Betsy enjoyed reading, watching NASCAR races, and loved attending University of North Alabama football and baseball games. She held a deep love for her family, especially her new great-grandson.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Jimmy Willis of Hamilton; her children Chris Willis (Tara) and Marybeth Willis Myers; her sister, Martha Jurney (Bill) of Amory; her grandchildren, Austin Myers (Sydney), Beau Willis, Cody Willis, and Drew Willis; her great-grandson, Kolson Allen Myers; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Jimmy Willis Jr.; and her son-in-law, Allen Myers.

A private service will be held by the family at a later date.
