Bettye Hughes Evans

Bettye Mildred Hughes Evans, 82, passed away on Friday, July 16, 2021 at the Care Center in Aberdeen. She was born on May 6, 1939 in Walker County, AL to the late John and Leota Hughes. Bettye grew up and attended school in Greenwood Springs, MS, later marrying Roger Evans in 1957. For a number of years she worked as a nurse, later becoming a homemaker which gave her much joy in life. She also loved all animals, having a huge heart she gave many strays a permanent home. She also enjoyed being outdoors working in her yard.

She is survived by her son, Mike Evans (Tina), Aberdeen; grandson, Michael Evans (Ashton), Aberdeen and a great grandson, Jace Evans.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her son, John Ronald Evans, her sisters, Myrtle Keith and Ruth Hughes; brothers, Charlie, Theron, Leonard and James Hughes.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, July 18, 2021 at Tisdale Lann Memorial Funeral Home in Aberdeen with Bro. Jesse Betts officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. Everyone is asked to be at the funeral home at 1:45 PM.
