Billy Hanna Jr.

Shannon- William "Billy" Earl Hanna, Jr., 71, passed away on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 at his residence in Shannon.  He was born on July 8, 1953 to parents William Earl Hanna, Sr. and Dereatha (Ricks) Hanna in Hemingway, South Carolina. He lived most of his life in the Shannon area. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. He had worked as a farmer. He was of the Baptist faith. Billy enjoyed hunting, working in the fields and  riding his tractors. He loved his family, especially spending time with his grandchildren. 

The family will have a Memorial Service at a later date.

He is survived by one daughter, Tonya Self (Rusty), one son, Billy Hanna (Megan), 9 grandchildren, George, Kelsey, Glenda, Jesse, Logan, Dalton, Emily, Brayden, Briley and 9 great grandchildren, 5 siblings, David, Yvonne, Donna, Gail, Joyce, Rose and several nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Lou Hanna, one son, Nathan Yeager,  and one sister, Karen Hanna.
