Bobby Smith

Bobby Wayne Smith, 89, passed away on Monday, September 28, 2026 at his residence in Nettleton. He was born in Giles County, TN on June 27, 1937 to parents Otis Alexander Smith and Minnie Pearl (Powell) Smith. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ.  He retired from the City of Okolona as a heavy equipment operator. Bobby enjoyed raising bulldogs, gardening, watching Nascar on television and in his early years he loved to coon hunt.

Funeral services will be at 1 pm on Thursday, October 1, 2026 in the Chapel of Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home of Nettleton with Bro. Bubba Kennedy officiating. Burial will be at Liberty Cemetery.

Visitation will Wednesday, September 30, 2026 from 5-7 pm at the funeral home.

He is survived by his wife, Joann (Burleson) Smith of Nettleton; one son, Robert Smith (Deanna) of Nettleton; two daughters, Patrica Underwood of Nettleton; Debra Hester (Richard) of Nettleton; grandchildren, Tina Hester, Gina Bishop (Luke), Lisa Edwards (TJ), Savannah Smith, great grandchildren, Katlin & Madelyn Hester and John Luke & Logan Bishop.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and twelve brothers and sisters.

Pallbearers will be John Stewart, Wayne Seymore, John Luke Bishop, TJ Edwards, Richard Hester and James Gant.
