Bob Stockton

April 7, 1934 — June 11, 2025

Aberdeen

Mr. Robert Nelson "Bob"  Stockton, 91, went to his heavenly home on Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at North Mississippi Medical Center-Gilmore in Amory surrounded by his family. He was born on April 7, 1934 in Amory, MS to Orville (Boonie) Nelson Stockton and Ruby Mathews Stockton. After graduating from Amory High School, he attended Mississippi State University. He temporarily withdrew  from college as he enlisted in the US Army where he served in Germany for two years. After his service to our country, he returned to MSU to finish his degree in Industrial Engineering. In 1958, he married the love of his life Emma Lann. They were married for 67 beautiful years. Bob started his career at NASA in Huntsville, AL. He later moved to Aberdeen where he worked for Walker Manufacturing. In 1965, inspired by a vision of his father-in-law, Walter Lann Sr., he identified a need in the community for quality cleaning supplies in businesses. From that realization, Lann Chemical and Supply Co. was born. Bob instilled in his employees to serve with respect and always be truthful. If you worked for him, you were a part of his family. To this day his legacy lives on through his son-in-law, granddaughter and grandson. They continue to keep the spirit of family, dedication and service alive.

Bob was known as a successful business man. He was know by his friends and family for so much more.  He was devoted to his wife and two daughters being the best husband and father. As his family grew, his grandchildren and great grandchildren were his pride and joy. They always had a special place in his heart. He never wanted to miss an opportunity to watch their sporting events, pageants or programs.

He led a life of service to others and the community. He was a long time member of St. Mark Methodist Church where he served on boards and as a Sunday School teacher. Bob will always be remembered for his kindness and service to others. Nothing brought him more joy than helping others. No matter who you were, he would ask, "What can I do to help you"? His energy and willingness to help others was unending.

He is survived by his wife, Emma, his daughter, Laura Stockton Gaskin (Steve), granddaughter, Rachel Alsup (Justin), grandson, Jason Gaskin (Amanda) as well as 6 great-grandchildren, Presley, Elliott, Gavin and Estelle Gaskin and Hayden and Kinsley Alsup.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Melissa Ann Stockton, his sister, Anna Lynn Stockton and his grandson Matthew Lann Gaskin.

The family would like to express special thanks to his wonderful caregivers who have cared for him with love and kindness: Linnie Stone, Tori Romich, Patty Griffin, Deborah Wilkerson, Nancy Tubb, Alexis Morris, Kathy Corbell, Sandra Coburn, Brenda Holiday, Patsy Paker, Lindy Paker and Lillian Washington.

Pallbearers will be Walter Lann III, David Loftin, Christopher Loftin, Mark Brooks, Randy Ferguson and Chris Baker.
