Brenda Mixon

Brenda Carol Mixon, 56, passed away Friday, June 24, 2022 at her son’s residence in Memphis.  She was born on October 13, 1965 in Amory to Colon Mixon and Geraldine Rowell.  She lived in Aberdeen, Mississippi before moving to Memphis, Tennessee.  She worked as a skilled seamstress in furniture manufacturing and later worked in food service management.  She enjoyed reading, gardening, and spending time with her children/grandchildren. She was an exceptional cook who loved to bake.  She enjoyed watching the ID channel and refurbishing old furniture.  Brenda was a hard worker who was a great provider for her boys whom she loved dearly. She also served others as a “Mama” to anyone whom she encountered who needed it. Brenda’s life passion was to find the hidden potential in those who others had tossed away as trash, and help them be their best selves. She was a member of Grace Baptist Chapel in the Coontail Community.  

Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.  Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 28, 2022 from 8 until 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home.  There will be private family graveside services.  

She is survived by her three boys, Wayne Davis (Ashley) of Weatherford, TX, Zachary Davis (Heather Stevenson) of Midlothian, TX, and Sidney Davis (Kanzin) of Memphis; her two bonus children, L.P. Welch and Crystal Welch Batey; three brothers, Billy Ray Rowell (Buddie Rose) of Aberdeen, Mike Mixon (Janice) of Alabama, and Philip Rowell of Aberdeen; one sister, Rhonda Mask (Ricky) of Okolona; and 4 grandchildren, Brandi Michelle Davis, Riley Brooke Davis, Olivia Faye Davis, Nova Rayne Davis.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
