Cathy Lynn Monteith Riley, a wonderful wife, mother, aunt and grandma, age 65, gained her angel wings on Friday, March 10, 2023.  Cathy passed away peacefully at home surrounded by the love of her family.

Cathy was born on May 5, 1957, in Salina, Kansas to her parents the late Dale and Joan Monteith. She was a wonderful example of living life to the fullest.  The love she had for her family shined through everything she did.  Cathy was an exceptional employee at Renasant bank for 35 years when she retired. Cathy served as a faithful member of CrossPointe Fellowship Church in Nettleton, MS and her church family held a special place in her heart.

Our hearts are full that Cathy’s spirit is reunited with her son, Jordan Thomas Riley, along with her mother and father, her father-in-law Tommy Lee Riley and her three brothers, Eddie, David and Johnny Monteith. She is survived by her brother, Dale “Cookie” Monteith (Chris), and her only sister, Connie Phillips (David).

Cathy was married to the love of her life, her husband Jerry Riley, for an amazing 46 Years.  The greatest joys in her life were her son, Josh, and granddaughter, Lyla.  The day Josh married her daughter-in-law, Katy Evans Riley, was one of the best days of her life. The love she had for them surpassed all others.

Cathy had many nieces and nephews, along with great nieces and nephews, whom she loved and adored as well. Cathy had a military family that brought her so much happiness. She cherished the memories they made, especially during their yearly reunion throughout her life. 

We will always remember Cathy’s charismatic personality and her smile that could light up any room. Cathy will be missed dearly by family and friends near and far, but we find comfort in knowing she will always be watching over us.

Cathy’s celebration of life will be held on Monday, March 13, 2023, at CrossPointe Fellowship in Nettleton, Mississippi at 2 PM, with a private family graveside service following. Visitation will begin at 11:30 AM and continue until the service hour at 2 PM.

The pallbearers will be her son, Josh Riley, her nephews, Jonathon Robinson, Justin Cooper, Thomas Glen Riley, Jon Taylor Riley, and James Magenheimer. The honorary pall bearer is her brother, Cookie Monteith.
