Don Ausborn

Mr. Charles Donwood Ausborn, 86, passed away on Friday, April 10, 2026, at his home. Born on May 15, 1939, he was a son to Ledrew Roland and Colie Agnes Smitherman Ausborn. He enlisted in the United States Navy where he served aboard the aircraft carrier, USS Ticonderoga. He married the former Frona Anderson who preceded in death and later he married Emma Dahlem who survives. He was a farmer which included dairy cows, beef cattle, soybeans and he also bred Tennessee Walking Horses. Don Ausborn was a good friend, excellent neighbor, kind father, devoted husband, and loving grandfather and he was known for his generosity, wisdom, and good humor. He was a dependable pillar of support for friends and family throughout his life. He attended Hamilton Friendship Church.

Memorial services will be on Thursday evening, April 16, 2026 at 6 p.m. at Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until the service hour at the funeral home.

He is survived by his three daughters, Lucille Ausborn, Amanda Reed; son-in-law, Jeffrey Scott Reed, and Agnes Ray; his wife, Emma Dahlem Ausborn; one sister, Virginia Key; 4 grandchildren, Charley Ann Reed, Virginia Lyn Reed, Stella Rose Burris, and George Anderson Burris; two stepsons, Douglas and Tommy Dahlem.

Preceding him in death are his parents; son, Matthew Donwood Ausborn; brothers, Roland Ausborn and George Ausborn; and sisters, Sarah King, Kay Butler, Agnes Siegried, and Jimmie Nell Hill.
