Doris I. McElroy

Doris I. McElroy, age 94, died Sunday, June 26, 2022 at her residence in Aberdeen.  She was born April 5, 1928 to Henry McBee Ingold and Maxine Manasco Ingold in Belzoni, MS.  She lived most of her life in Aberdeen where she was a member of First Baptist Church of Aberdeen.  She was a loving, caring, and dedicated wife and mother that loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.  She was a homemaker where she enjoyed sewing, cooking, and crocheting.  She was the boss of the family, and the glue that held the family together. 

Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 29, 2022 in the Tisdale-Lann Memorial Chapel in Aberdeen with Bro. James Clardy and Bro. Hamp Valentine officiating.  Burial will be in Oddfellows Rest Cemetery.

Survivors include her husband of 77 years, Warren McElroy of Aberdeen, MS; two sons, Jimmy McElroy (Mary) of Hamilton, MS and Steve McElroy of Aberdeen, MS; three daughters, Carolyn Reynolds (Andy) of Hamilton, MS, Jane Mink of Hamilton, MS, and Jo Beth Burkheimer (Larry) of Farmerville, LA; nine grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Jackie Ingold; one sister, Peggy Leggett; and son-in-law, Tommy Mink.

Pallbearers are David Mink, Jamie Andrews, Eli Laskey, Nathan Self, Martin Nichols, and Nathan Nichols

Honorary pallbearers are Larry Burkheimer, Andy Reynolds, Blake Cheatwood, Brad Bennett, Daniel Ott, Dale Hawkins, Tommy Oakes, Roy Lee Pruett, and Dale Pierce.

Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until service time, Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral home in Aberdeen.
