Eddie Benjamin Smith, 75, passed away on Thursday, January 1, 2026 at North Mississippi Medical Center Hospice in Tupelo. He was born in Aberdeen on April 13, 1950 to Harold L. and Eloise Taylor Underwood Smith. On June 28, 1969, he married the former Sandra Jones. Eddie was a U.S. Army veteran stationed in German during the Vietnam Era, where he drove for 4-star general, General Person. He was a dedicated employee for over 40 years at Georgia Gulf. He liked listening to old country music, and he also enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. on Sunday, January 4, 2026 at New Prospect Cemetery in Lackey with Bro. Robert Moore officiating. Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.

In addition to his wife of 55 years, Sandra Smith, he is survived by two daughters, Michelle Smith, Greeneville, TN and Monica Phillips (Kevin), Amory; one brother, Bobby Smith, Dothan, AL; two grandchildren, Benjamin Hayes Phillips (Dixie) and Andrew Gibson; and great grandchild, Mangus Graham Phillips.

Preceding him in death are his parents; one sister, Jane Coggins; and one brother, Chuck Smith.

Pallbearers will be Hayes Phillips, Andrew Gibson, Brad Hadaway, Phillip Hadaway, Kevin Phillips, and Terry Jones.

Visitation will be on Sunday from 1 p.m. until 2:30 at the funeral home.
