Eileen Nolen

Marie Eileen Carter Nolen (77) of Hamilton, MS passed away Sunday, March 22nd at The Windsor in Columbus, MS; She was born July 22, 1948 to the late Riley Howard Carter and Sarah Elizabeth Coleman Carter in Aberdeen Mississippi.

Preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, James (Jim) Doyle Nolen.

Mrs. Nolen was survived by her children Anita Nolen Blakney (Joey) of Reform, AL, Jennifer Nolen Oliver of Columbus, MS; grandchildren, Courtney Elizabeth Johnson, Anthony DeWayne Blakney (Rylee), Nolan Riley Blakney; great-grandchildren, Ava Addison Bray, Paislee Jade Troester and Lincoln James Johnson; brother, Ronnie Carter (Inez), sister-in-law, the late Dolores Ann McCann (Butch) of Smithville, TN and several nieces and nephews.

She was a faithful member of Sulphur Springs Primitive Baptist Church. She was a loving wife and mother. She loved spending time with her family, church family, gardening, and cooking. She also loved her pampered pooches.

Mrs. Nolen worked as an inventory clerk at Mississippi University for Women until she retired.

Funeral services will be at Sulphur Springs Primitive Baptist Church in Caledonia, MS. on Wednesday, March 25, 2026 with Bro. Joe Nettles officiating at 12:00 P.M.

Pallbearers will be James Waddle, Jim Waddle, Mitchell Carter, Robert Forte, Kelson Brewer, and Orein Holley. Honorary Pallbearers include the members of Sulphur Springs Primitive Baptist Church.

Visitation will be held prior to the service on Wednesday at the church from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M.

The service will be directed by Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral home.
