Elizabeth Hill Joseph passed away on June 12, 2023 in Aberdeen at the age of 99.  She was born in Aberdeen to Louis K. and Mattie Chism Hill.  Elizabeth grew up in the Coontail Community and graduated as Valedictorian from Wren High School.  She worked many jobs during her life including Walder Lann’s dry cleaners, Welch’s Grocery, Dr. N.S. Dickson’s office, and Dr. Ray Lacy’s office.  In 1945 she married Richard Joseph who was stationed at Columbus Air Force Base at the time.  Elizabeth was a life-long member of First Baptist Church in Aberdeen.  Her passion in life was her Christian faith also spending time with her family.  She had a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and accepted God’s gift of grace given freely to all.  She loved tending her flower gardens.  An excellent cook, she enjoyed cooking not only for her family, but also for her friends and neighbors.  

 

A graveside service will be on Thursday, June 15 officiated by Bro. Chuck Moffett at Oddfellows Rest Cemetery.  Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home of Aberdeen is in charge.

 

Elizabeth leaves behind one daughter, a grandson, and several nieces and nephews.


She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and eight brothers and sisters.

 

The family would like to thank everyone at Garden Suites Assisted Living and Monroe Regional Hospital for the excellent care they provided for our loved one.
