Ernest Roland "Butch" Blanton, Jr

Nettleton- Ernest Roland "Butch" Blanton, Jr.,74, passed away on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. He was born on March 12, 1949 in Lee County to parents Ernest Roland Blanton, Sr., and Bille Ruth (Roebuck) Blanton. He lived most of his life in the Nettleton area. He graduated form the University of Mississippi. He was a retired school teacher.  He proudly served his country in the United States Marines. Butch loved the outdoors, he adored animals and he enjoyed riding his six wheeler. He loved spending time with his family.

A Memorial Service will be on Friday, March 31, 2023  at 12:00 noon in the Chapel of Tisdale-Lann Memorial of Nettleton with Rev. Jordan Davis officiating.

He is survived by one son, Jonathan Blanton (Kristina), one granddaughter, Summer Joy Blanton.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a very special Aunt, Peggy Carnathan.
