Gene Faulkner

Calvin Eugene “Gene” Faulkner, 77, passed away on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at Monroe Regional Hospital in Aberdeen.  He was born on October 6, 1944, in Becker to Homer Lee and Vera Oliver Faulkner.  Gene grew up in Becker attended Becker School and he married Betty Guthrie on December 23, 1967.  Prior to his retirement, he worked for the City of Okolona in the electric department as a lineman.  He was of the Baptist faith and his hobbies included Civil War reenactments, collecting Indian arrowheads, trail riding horses and camping along the trail and riding his gator.  He liked to sit and visit with his family and friends, and he loved his two Yorkies, Doc Holliday, and Big Nose Kate.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 12, 2022 at Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Aberdeen with Alex Sims officiating.  Burial will follow in Tranquil Cemetery.

In addition to his wife of 54 years, Betty Faulkner, he is survived by two sons, Richard Faulkner (Jessica) and Jesse Faulkner (Rebecca) all of Aberdeen; four sisters, Dot Cristofori of Marian, AR, Faye Dodd (Gennie) of Wren, Joyce Rea of Becker, and Dianne McAnally of Becker; 9 grandchildren, Lindsey Faulkner, Elizabeth Sudduth (Edwin), Jeremy Harrel, Shane Dowdy, Makayla Dowdy, Colt Faulkner, Jake Faulkner, Jill Faulkner, and Ryleigh Faulkner; 5 great grandchildren, Micah Church, Ayden Hernandez, Jaxon Hernandez, Marley Sudduth, and Jaxon Harrel; a host of nieces and nephews; and numerous friends and coworkers.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, James Faulkner, Buddy Faulkner, and Henry Faulkner.

Visitation will be on Saturday evening from 5 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Colt Faulkner, Jake Faulkner, Cody Guthrie, Dax Lewis, David McDonald, and Edwin Smith.
