Gloria Jean Hickman

Gloria Jean Hickman Hicks, 87, passed away on Friday, November 28, 2025, in Houston. Born on December 1, 1937, she was a daughter to Clarence Odell Hickman and Belia Louise Odom Hickman. A graduate of Aberdeen High School, 1956, she attended Mullenburg College in Allentown, PA and for over 30 years, she worked with Bank of America. In addition, she provided services to families by playing the organ and piano at Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home for many years. An excellent cook, she also enjoyed gardening and tole painting, and she was highly active in the American Cancer Society, United Way, and the Pilot Club of Aberdeen. For many years, she was a member of Life Church in Richmond, VA and currently attended First Pentecostal Church in Aberdeen where she taught Sunday school.

She is survived by one son, Bobby Lynn Hicks (Alice), Bethlehem, PA; daughter, Angela Ackerman (Lee), Mantee; two sisters, Harolyn Hatley, Columbus, MS and Sandra Weeks, Ocean Springs; grandchildren, Sarah Ackerman and Laura Hendick; and great grandchildren, Eden Opal and Walker Redding.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bobby Lee Hicks; brother, Kelly Hickman; son, Tommy Lee Hicks; and grandson, Jason Hicks.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.
