James Harvey Shackelford, 86, passed away on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at North Mississippi Medical Center Hospice in Tupelo. Born on February 2, 1939, in Lee County, he was a son of George William “Doc” and Evamae Gertrude Patterson Shackelford. He was a security guard for many years, and his hobbies included fishing, camping, hunting, gardening, and yard work. He was a man who loved his family, especially all his grandchildren. He was a member of Limestone Baptist Church where he loved to attend when he was able and enjoyed family cookouts.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home in Nettleton with Bro. Gary Carroll, Bro. Don Sparks, and Bro. Randy Gray officiating. Burial will be in the McNeal Cemetery near Saltillo.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Nellie Sue Shackelford; two daughters, Pamela Sue Shackelford Henderson (David) and Patricia Ann Shackelford Stiltz (Ken); 6 grandchildren, James “Trey” Duvall, III, Shelly Ann Stiltz, Misty Dawn Raines, Bretley Cheyenne Foster, Brianna Sue Johnson, and Dave Henderson; 10 great grandchildren, Dalton, Skyy, Hayden, John Alan, Hunter Lee, Eli, Lily, Amelia, Allie, Walker, and Hazel; 3 great great grandchildren, Korrie, A.J., and Nevaeh; and one brother, Edward Shackelford.
Preceding him in death are his parents.
Pallbearers will be Trey Duvall, Ken Stiltz, Dalton Hendrix, Dave Henderson, Brent Raines, and Hayden Raines. Honorary pallbearers will be John Alan and Hunter Lee Raines and David Henderson.
Visitation will be on Tuesday evening from 5 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
