Gene Baggett

Herman Eugene "Gene" Baggett, 71, passed on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at the NMMC in Tupelo. He was born October 13, 1951 in Monroe County to parents Herman and Lois (Hester) Baggett of Nettleton.  He was a retired truck driver. Gene was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. He had an outgoing personality and he enjoyed horse sales, hunting and wagon riding. He was always up for a good "horse trade".

Funeral services will be at Liberty Baptist Church in Nettleton on Thursday, January 12, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. with Bro. Robert Hogue officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery. Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home of Nettleton will be in charge of arrangements.

He is survived by his children, Rebecca Pierce (Bryan), Christie Hutcheson (Jimmy), Stephanie Baggett (Michael), Benji Foster, grandchildren, Zac Hutcheson, Jessica Knighton, Peighton Berry, Christin Malone, Colton Malone, Tyler Hill, Kaley Hill, Allyson Hill, Lilah Hill, Brantley Hamm, Khloe Baggett, Ella Earnest, Rebecca Lee, Deanna Foster, Aubri Hutcheson, great grandchildren, Hazel, Ellis, Ivy, Gwen, siblings, JoAnn Underwood, Nell Underwood (Bervin) of Nettleton, Wayne Baggett (Peggy) of Decatur Al, Michael Baggett (Pam) Brewer, Tammy Sullivan (Johnny) of Brewer and a hosts of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Bobby Baggett,  sister, Patsy Robinson, sister-in-law Donna Baggett and brother-in-law Murlis Underwood.

Pallbearers will be his nephews and honorary pallbearers will be his grandsons.

Visitation will be Thursday at the church prior to the service from 1:00-3:00 p.m.
