James Odis Lindsey

James Odis Lindsey, 101, died suddenly Tuesday, October 16, 2018, at his daughter’s residence in Vancleave. He was born in Monroe County to James Claude and Birdie Lee Fears Lindsey. He had lived most of his life in Ocean Springs, then resided in Amory for the next 29 years before residing in Vancleave for the past 3 years, was a retired Master Sergeant, having served for 29 years in the U.S. Army -Air Force during World War II and the MS Army National Guard, and was also a member of Christian Chapel Church of Christ in Amory. Odis enjoyed doing wood working, crafts, and being with his family. Survivors include one daughter, Lanora Lindsey Demoran (Mike, Sr.) of Vancleave; one step daughter, Gail Camp of Amory; one sister, Dimple McVeay (Jimmy) of Ocean Springs; four grandchildren, Michael Demoran, Jr. (Fiance, Lacy), Clayton James Demoran (Fiance, Elizabeth), Melanie Kate Demoran & Lauren Camp; two great grandchildren, Layton and Ayden & several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Nina Florine Clayton Lindsey; his second wife, Lorene Ross Camp Lindsey; his parents; one sister, Dean Presley (Pat); one brother, Harold Douglas Lindsey (Clara).
