James Robertson

James S. Robertson, 86 passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2022, at his home in Aberdeen.  He was born on October 17, 1935, in Hamilton to David and Blanche Robertson.  James attended school in Hamilton, and he was married to Joyce Tate in 1956.  Prior to his retirement, he worked in the oil fields as a truck driver which he loved to do.  He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church.  

Graveside services will be at 9 a.m. on Sunday, June 26, 2022, at Oddfellows Rest Cemetery with Bro. Rick Burton officiating.  Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.  Visitation will be on Saturday evening from 5 until 8 p.m.  Everyone is asked to meet at the cemetery on Sunday morning.  

In addition to his wife of 66 years, Joyce Robertson, he is survived by one son, Joe Robertson (Nancy) of Caledonia; two daughters, Fran Marsac (Boodro) of Cedar Bluff and Shirley Kemerling (Glen) of Oklahoma City, OK; one sister, Joyce Gosa of Lackey; 6 grandchildren, Sam Robertson (Allison), Michael Kyle, Justin Marsac (Lindsee), Amber Ott (Cameron), Tyler Kemerling, and Jamie Clinesmith (Jonathan); 9 great grandchildren, Gracie, Taylor, Breeley, Olivia, Kayleigh, McKenzie, Mason, Jobe, and Sadie.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Nathan Robertson; and a sister, Lois Long.

Pallbearers will be Justin Marsac, Cameron Ott, Sam Robertson, Michael Kyle, Jay Gill, and Robert Lofton. Honorary pallbearer is the late Dr. Edmond Miller and Rebecca Stanford.
