Aberdeen-James Henry Walters 81, of Aberdeen passed away on Feb. 4, 2024 at Personal Place Assisted Living in Aberdeen.

James was born on Nov. 1, 1942 in Aberdeen to Searcy and Maudie Neal Walters. James was a plumber and owned and operated Walters Plumbing in Aberdeen for many years. He taught his skill set to many including his two sons. His favorite pass time after retirement was spending time with family and fishing.

Survivors include one daughter, Debbie Thompson(Barry) of Hamilton; two sons Mike Walters (Em) of Aberdeen and Richard Walters (Stephanie) of Hamilton.

Sisters Gloria Jean Crosby and Rachel Capel of Amory, Doris Thompson (David) of Mooreville, Joyce Rhoden of Wake Village, TX. Brother Donnie Garner (Cindy) of Wren.

8 grandchildren Matt Bennett (Claire) of Hamilton, Will Allen (Morgan) of Wren, Chelsea T. Baulch (Justin) of Hamilton, Brandi Sudduth (Jordan) of New Hope, Brent Thompson (Julianna) of Starkville, Brooke (Josh) Ward of Lonoke AR., Maddie Walters of Starkville and Lauren Walters of Starkville; and 17 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife and mother of his children Wanda Beth Plaxico Walters, His wife of 15 years Joan Taylor Walters; grandson Michael Scott Walters; 3 brothers Daniel Harris, Richard Thornton, Robert Ashcraft and 2 sisters Kathleen Neely of Mansfield TX, and Dorothy  Parish of Amory.

Services will be held at Tisdale-Lann Funeral Home in Aberdeen on Wednesday Feb. 7, 2024 at 2:00. Visitation will be from 12:00 until service time, with burial at Oddfellows Rest Cemetery, Aberdeen MS.  Bro. George Collins will be officiating.   

Pall bearers will be Matt Bennett, Will Allen, Brent Thompson, Justin Baulch, Jordan Sudduth, Josh Ward, Lee Plaxico and Hayden Plaxico.
