James Edward West, Sr

James Edward West, Sr., age 81, died Monday, January 28, 2019, at Monroe Regional Hospital in Aberdeen. He was born April 16, 1937, to Charles and Opal West in Monroe County He was a life long resident of Aberdeen and was a member of Aberdeen First Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Aberdeen High School and attended Ole Miss and Mississippi State. He was the owner of J. West Construction and Roofing. Survivors include his wife, Bobbye Lee Butler West of Aberdeen, MS; two sons, Jim West, Jr of Aberdeen, MS; Scott West of Guntown, MS; extended family of two daughters and one son, Elaine Roach of Dallas, TX; Mary Beth Williamson (Mark) of Dallas, TX, Charles Peel (Tammye) of Dallas, TX; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; a special family friend, Peggy Butler Neux. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Charles West.
