John "Dub" Harris

John Wiley “Dub” Harris, 82, passed away on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. He was born on December 15, 1943, in Monroe County to Mack and Ruby Christine Smith Harris and he was married to the former Sandra English. For 17 years, he was an employee of Pennsylvania Tire in Tupelo, but Mr. Dub is most known for his appliance business which he operated many years. During that time, he gained numerous lifelong friends and dedicated customers. A true conversationalist, he never met a stranger which served him well in business. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, and traveling and he also enjoyed watching Gunsmoke on television. He was a long-time member of First Baptist Church in Nettleton.

Funeral services for Mr. Dub will be on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Nettleton with Bro. Bradley Geno officiating. Entombment will be in the mausoleum at Lee Memorial Park. Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home had been entrusted with the arrangements.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Sandra Harris; two sons, Spencer Harris (Lisa) and Brad Harris; daughter, Toni Scruggs (Shayne); 6 grandchildren, Joe Harris, Evan Harris, Sawyer Scruggs, Erin Harris, Chase Scruggs, and Kaylee Harris; and 4 great grandchildren, Lyrik Harris, Annastyn Harris, Londyn Harris, and Slater Scruggs.

Preceding him in death are his parents; one brother, Pete Harris; and two sister, Mary Sprayberry and Carolyn Tucker.

Pallbearers will be Joe Harris, Evan Harris, Sawyer Scruggs, Chase Scruggs, Lyrik Harris, and Brady Parker. Honorary pallbearers will be Eddie Pace, Dewey Harris, Bobby Neal, Mike Harris, David Sprayberry, Barry Parker, Benny Neal, Jim Alexander, Bobby Tucker, and Scott Cooper.

Visitation will be on Tuesday evening from 5 until 7 p.m., and from noon until the service hour at the church.
