Warner Lee Elam, 59, passed away on Thursday, August 11, 2022 at NMMC in Tupelo. He was born on September 1, 1962 in Aberdeen to the late Warren and Monet Smith Elam. Lee was a lifelong resident of Hamilton. Lee’s entire working life revolved around trucking. He was the proud owner and operator of Elam and Son Trucking, hauling everything from gravel to asphalt to logs and anything in between. Lee married Meachell Weaver on July 17, 1997. A people person, Lee never met a stranger and would help anyone in need. He enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed being on the water and was proud to have taught all of his children to ski. In his younger years, he was often found on the weekends drag strip racing.
Lee is survived by his wife of 25 years, Meachell Elam, Hamilton; daughters, Cassandra Leigh Bell (Mark), Hamilton, LeAnna Elyse Tucker (Drew), Greenwood Springs and Karey Beth Hill (Cory), Vernon; sons, James Bradley Elam (Melissa), Hamilton and James Matthew Hunter; sister, Annette Thunderburk (Billy), Aberdeen; brother, Gene Elam (Mary), Aberdeen; grandchildren, Bryar Elam, Alyssa Elam, Nathan Fast, Rylan Fast, Jerron Fast, Peyton Fast, Zoey Bell, Collin Bell, McKenzie Hunter, Gracen Elizabeth Tucker and Cason Hill; nieces, Nikki Collins (Kent), Amory and Nioka Bramlett (Jason); special friends, Mike Smith, Duck and Rita Holloway.
Funeral Services will be held at 1 PM on Monday, August 15, 2022 at Tisdale Lann memorial Funeral Home in Aberdeen with Bro. George Collins officiating. Burial will follow in Center Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Duck Holloway, Scott Butters, Bryar Elam, Nathan Fast, Rylan Fast and Ryan Tucker.
Visitation will be on Sunday evening from 5-8 PM at the Funeral Home.
