Leon “Noochie” Woods

Leon “Noochie” Woods, age 83, died Tuesday, November 20, 2018, at his residence in Aberdeen. He was born August 10, 1935, to Rufus C. Woods and Locke Irene Merchants Woods in Hamilton, MS. He was a lifelong resident of Monroe County and was a member of Hamilton United Methodist Church. He retired from Walker Manufacturing after thirty-four years. Survivors include his wife, Sarah Ann Lackie Woods of Aberdeen, MS; two sisters, Dora Rye of Hamilton, MS, and Margie Griggs of Hamilton, MS; one brother, Grafton Woods of Hamilton, MS; two grandchildren, Dell Lackie and Courtney Armstrong (Blake); two great-grandchildren, Carson Armstrong and Jalyn Armstrong; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Pauline Woods; two brothers, Rufus Woods and George Woods.
