Lera Rearick

Peggy Lera Rearick, 101, passed away on Friday, July 4, 2025 at Monroe Regional Hospital in Aberdeen. She was born on November 7, 1923 at home in Aberdeen to John Joseph and Sadie Bruce Walters and she was a graduate of Aberdeen High School. She worked for the Gulf Ordinance Plant in Prairie during the Great War and for 30 years, she was an accountant for the U.S. Air Force. Later she had the opportunity of going into business where she owned and operated Carolyn’s Dress Shop and was a staple merchant on Aberdeen Main Street for over 30 years. She was most proud of being a long-time member of First Chrisian Church in Aberdeen where she served as organist. A member of the Easter Star, she was Past Associate Grand Matron of Mississippi, 1977.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home in Aberdeen with Bro. David Snyder officiating. Burial will follow in Oddfellows Rest Cemetery.

She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Rollison, Aberdeen; two grandchildren, Lenny Rollison (Ritsuko), of Dallas/Ft. Worth, TX and Heather Rollison, Aberdeen; great grandchildren, Dusty Rollison, Derby Luca Beasley, Bannan Beasley, Andrew Rollison, Alex Rollison, Amelia Rollison, and Aiden Rollison; two great great grandchildren, Jack Reed Rollison and Kylie Grace Rollison; sister-in-law, Mary Walters; and nephew, Joel Walters.

She was preceded in death by her parents; twin sister, Era Walters, sister, Zema Patterson; brother, Johnny Reed Walters; and nephews, Gary Walters and Andrew Walters.

Pallbearers will be Lenny Rollison, Victor Rollison, Derby Luca Beasley, Bannan Beasley, Joel Walters, and Bo Stahl.

Visitation will be on Tuesday from noon until 1:45 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to First Christian Church, Aberdeen or to Paralyzed Veterans.
