Linda Willis

Linda Tibbetts Willis, 87, passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2026, at Windsor Place in Columbus. She was born in Amory on March 18, 1939, to William Linder and Marie Ritter Tibbetts. A graduate of Amory High School, she married Mr. William ‘Bud’ Willis in 1956. As an Air Force wife, she traveled all over the world, living in several different states before Bud’s retirement where they made their home in Columbus. She worked in civil service as editor and chief of publications for Columbus Air Force Base. She was an avid reader and enjoyed working word puzzles.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, Aberdeen. Burial will follow in the Odd Fellows Rest Cemetery.

In addition to her husband of 70 years, William ‘Bud’ Willis, she is survived by her daughter, Lisa Griffin (Tommy), Huntsville, AL; her son, Mike Willis, Columbus; one sister, Peggy Smith, Amory; two grandsons, Steve Griffin (Alex) and Scott Griffin; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be on Thursday from 1 p.m. until the service hour.
