Malchom Ray Pounders

June 3, 1950 — October 17, 2020

Malchom Ray Pounders, 70, passed away on October 17, 2020, at his
residence. He was born June 3, 1950, in Monroe County to the late Paul Price and
Jewel Ray Sutton Pounders. He graduated from Hamilton High School. For
several years, Malchom worked in the construction industry doing road work in
Texas and then worked 5 years in Sri Lanka as a project manager building
irrigation canals. Upon his return to Monroe County, he worked in several
different Ford dealerships, retiring as a master mechanic. He had a great love for
horses and enjoyed raising colts, working his horses to his wagon and trail riding,
camping, and fishing. In his younger years, he spent many nights in the woods
coonhunting.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Pounders; sons, Michael Pounders (Lane),
Hamilton and Larry Pounders (Pam) Fayetteville, NC; stepchildren, Todd Waller,
Escatawpa, MS, Megann Hall, Wesson, Ms and Barrett Hall, Crystal Springs, MS;
brother, Jesse Pounders, Hamilton; grandchildren, Quinn and Piper Pounders,
Blake and Jonny Pounders, Sierra Hess (Marc); 6 great-grandchildren and a host of
nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by sisters, Catherine Kyzar and
Elois Jones; brother, Roy Pounders.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, October 20, 2020, at the Tisdale Lann
Memorial Funeral Home Chapel at 11 AM with Burial to follow in McDuffie
Cemetery. Bro. Russell Kyzar and Bro. Ronald Kyzar will be officiating. Pallbearers
will be Andrew Mitchell Jones, David Jones, Quinn Pounders, Danny Smith, Ricky
Rea, Vic Armstreet, and J.J. Pounders.

Visitation will be on Tuesday morning from 10 AM until 10:45 AM.
