Martha Carden

Martha Mize Carden, 91 passed away on February 3, 2026 at Trinity Healthcare Center in Columbus. She was born in Hamilton on October 26, 1934, the only child to Leonard Andrew and Jimmie Corinne West Stewart. A graduate of Hamilton High School and worked as the school secretary for many years before retiring from Bank of Mississippi. She always sent cards to people for various occasions, and she was a master gardener who loved to arrange flowers. In addition, she enjoyed fishing.

A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, February 6, 2026 at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens with Bro. Jerry Mitchell officiating. Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements. Everyone is asked to meet at the cemetery.

She is survived by one son, Gary Mize (Mitchell Holmes), Ft. Worth, TX; daughter-in-law, Linda Mize, Hamilton; and granddaughter, Allison Mize.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and one son, Mickey Mize.
