Mary Frances DuBose Carter, 91, passed away on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at Care Center of Aberdeen. She was born on May 20, 1934, in South Carolina to William and Eunice Rodgers DuBose. She graduated from Hamilton High School, and she was the widow of Mr. J.B. Carter. Throughout her life, she worked in many different areas, teaching swimming lessons and keeping children. In addition, she also worked in the grocery business with three different companies and was a demonstrator in Wal-Mart. She enjoyed reading, yard work, and she was heavily involved with Keep Mississippi Beautiful along with being the secretary of Woodmen of the World. She was a member of the Hamilton Church of Christ.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, February 16, 2026, at Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home in Aberdeen with Ministers Evan Bolen and Tim Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. at Hebron Cemetery near Arab, AL.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her sons, Jerome Carter (Myra) and Tim Carter (Phyllis); daughter, Glenda Owen (Ken); daughter-by-heart, Peggie House; 9 grandchildren, Christina Owen, Jason Owen, Marguerite Carter, Phillip Carter, Cory Ford, Johnathan Carter, Miranda Gray, Raina Cofer, Dustin Carter; honorary grandchildren, Rob Ford, Chris House, and April Dill; and many great and great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, J.B. Carter; sisters, Willie Mae Pack, Carolyn Nicgorski, Irene DuBose; brothers, John DuBose, and Earnest DuBose; son, Phillip Carter; daughter, Teresa Ford; grandson, Jacob Carter; and great grandson, Zachary Sutherland.
Pallbearers will be Cory Ford; Corbin Cofer; Johnathan Carter, Brandon Guyton, James Nevins, and Dustin Carter. Honorary pallbearers will be Rob Ford, Cary Hanlon, and Billy Dill.
Visitation will be on Sunday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
