Michael Pounders

Michael Dea Pounder, 63, passed away on Friday April 10, 2026, at Care Center of Aberdeen. Born on May 26, 1962, in West Point to Dea and Doris Pounders, he graduated from Americas, GA High School. He received a degree from North Georgia Tech, and he taught in the Automotive Technology Program at Chattahoochee Tech where he accomplished having the #1 program in the nation. Michael enjoyed the outdoors whether playing golf or working in the yard and even boasted of having Yard-of-the-Month once. He liked watching hummingbirds and taking care of his pets.

Memorial services will be at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until the service hour.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his parents, Dea and Doris Pounders, Aberdeen; one son, Chase Pounders (Kayla), Aberdeen; one brother, Grady Pounders (Jan), Aberdeen; grandson, Mason Pounders; special friend, Shannon Thompson Miller; nieces and nephews, Madison Hillhouse and Cole Pounders.

He was preceded in death by one son, Gregory Morgan Pounders; and his wife, Cara Michelle Axe Pounders.
