Michael Royce Richardson

Michael Royce Richardson, 66, passed away December 25, 2020 at NMMC in Tupelo. He was born in New Albany on February 13, 1954 to the late William Royce and Cybil Swords Richardson. Mike was a 1972 graduate of Aberdeen High School. He retired from MDOT with over 38 years of service. After retirement, Mike worked as a senior inspector of road projects with Civil Link. A true outdoorsman, he enjoyed deer, turkey hunting and fishing. Mike also had a love for fast cars, and he enjoyed working on his mustang. An expert marksman with a bow and arrow, Mike won several competitive shooting tournaments. But most of all his true joy was spoiling his grandchildren.
He is survived by his daughter, Heather Barnes, Hamilton; son, Michael Richardson (Katelyn), Pontotoc; brothers, Randy Richardson (Connie), Hamilton and Donnie Richardson, Aberdeen; grandchildren, Cassie and Hunter Barnes, Emma Richardson; special friend, June Johnson; nephews, Justin Richardson, DJ Richardson (Jennifer), Nick Richardson (Lynzie) and Cole Richardson.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his grandparent’s, Cordie and John W. Swords.
Funeral Services will be held at 1 PM, Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home in Aberdeen with Bro. Robert Fowlkes officiating. Burial will follow in Ingomar Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Travis Patterson, DJ Richardson, Justin Richardson, Nick Richardson, Cole Richardson and Hunter Barnes. Louis Burroughs will serve as honorary pallbearer.
Visitation will be on Tuesday prior to the service from noon until 12:45 PM.
