Myrtle Loyce Horne

Nettleton- Myrtle Loyce (Kennedy) Horne, 84, passed away on June 3, 2025 after an extended illness. She was born in Tupelo, MS on May 4, 1941 to Romie Kennedy and Dovie Stevens Kennedy. Myrtle was the last of 12 children. She attended Pine Grove School. Myrtle had worked at several area factories. She retired from Daybrite Lighting in 2006. She was a hard worker and took pride in any job that she held. She was a member of Carolina Church. When she was able she enjoyed fishing, cooking, gardening and crocheting.

Funeral services will be held at Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home of Nettleton on Thursday, June 5, 2025 at 2 pm with Bro. Toby Lansdell officiating. Burial will be in Wigul Cemetery (Carolina Community).

Visitation will be prior to service from 12-2 pm at the funeral home.

She is survived by one son, Timothy Horne of Madison, MS; one daughter, Angie Mills (Hal) of Carolina Community; three grandsons, Nicholas Horne, Justin Mills (Tessa), Brian Mills (Brook), 5 great grandchildren, Brilee, Kaylee, Benton, Owen, Adalynn Mills, one sister-in-law, Clara Kennedy, bonus children, Janice, Kenny, Danny, Melinda, Darlene Horne, bonus grand children, Jack Davis, Bella Davis, a host of nieces, nephews, special niece, Darnell Hughes (John) that always visited and checked on her and special friend Pam Barnett.

Myrtle was preceded in death by her parents and 11 siblings, Herman Bailey, Doris Knight, R. P. Kennedy Jr., Prentice Kennedy, Jimmy Dale Kennedy, Leroy Kennedy, Frances Sanders, Novie Kemp, Eloise Johnson, Gladys Gahagen and Lorene Jones.

Pallbearers will be Justin Mills,Brian Mills, Nicholas Horne, John Hughes, John Farr and Mike Farr.
