Norman J. Lee peacefully transitioned from labor to reward on July 21, 2023. Born on December 13, 1941, to the proud parents Anna and Jacob Lee Sr., Norman was one of 14 siblings. He was a devoted husband to Bonnie Sue Luker for 23 years, and together they raised 9 wonderful children.
Norman dedicated many years of his life to Walker Manufacturing, where he worked tirelessly until retirement. Even after retirement, he continued his industrious spirit by joining Lee's Precast until 2021. Additionally, Norman took on side jobs alongside his great friend and nephew, Nelson Lee. His strong work ethic and commitment were admired by all who knew him.
Beyond his professional achievements, Norman was a compassionate and honest man, serving as a father figure and mentor to many. He possessed a kind heart, unwavering integrity, and an abundance of love. Norman's legacy will be forever cherished by all those whose lives he touched.
Norman is preceded in death by 7 brothers and sisters. He is survived by his 9 beloved children: Iva Lee, Irene Lee, Rita Lee, Tina Cockerham (Jimmy), Stephanie Hayes (Vincent I), Reuben Lee (Nichole), Rosetta Lee, Arlinda Hodges, and Miranda Lee. He also leaves behind a legacy of 22 grandchildren - Jamie, Cody, Latherio, Olivia, Samantha, Antonio, Damien, Precious, Margaretta, Camaron, Corlotta, Vincent II, Aja’, Karenea, Zoey, Bryanna, Reuben Jacob, Mickel, Marcus, Norman, Adelei, and Kylon - as well as 13 great-grandchildren.
Additionally, Norman is survived by his ex-wife Bonnie Sue Luker and his 7 siblings: Menno, Milton, Lena, Jacob, Donald, Susan, and Kathy. Their bond as a family was strong and enduring.
Honoring Norman's memory, the pallbearers will be Cody Segura, Antonio Elizondo, Latherio Cox, Vincent Hayes II, Reuben J. Lee, and Marcus Lee. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Camaron Cockerham, Norman Lee, Damien Gilleylen, and Makel Gibson.
A graveside service to celebrate the remarkable life of Norman J. Lee will be held at 6 PM on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at Luker Lee Cemetery on Posey Lane in Aberdeen. Visitation for friends and family will be held from Sunday July 23rd at 5pm until Wednesday July 26 at 5pm, at the home of Rita Lee 1016 Commerce ST., Aberdeen, MS 39730. Repass will follow graveside services back at Rita’s house.
As we bid farewell to Norman, let us remember the profound impact he had on our lives. May his soul find eternal peace, and may his memory inspire us to live with love, kindness, and integrity each day.
