Patricia Ray Waldrop, 78, passed away June 23, 2026, at her home, surrounded by family. She was born on October 16, 1947, to Willie Ray and Mary Lou Rasberry. She grew up in Flora, MS, and graduated from Flora High School in 1965. Patricia attended MUW in Columbus, MS, where she earned both her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Elementary Education. Patricia married her high school sweetheart, David Waldrop, in 1969. They settled in Aberdeen, MS, where she took a position as a second-grade teacher for the Aberdeen Public School District. She worked for over 30 years, educating and loving students until she retired from teaching. She spent time in retirement as an educational book sales representative to schools. She found her way to Evans Memorial Library in Aberdeen as the Children’s Director, where she continued to teach children about the love of reading. Patricia was a long-time member of Aberdeen First United Methodist Church. She was very active in the children’s ministry for decades, teaching Sunday school and leading Vacation Bible School throughout the years. She was also active in the Methodist women’s Circle at church. Patricia never met a stranger and was always known to have the gift of gab, looking for every opportunity to show Christ’s love to all she met.
