Patty Tucker Dahlem

Patty Tucker Dahlem, 59, passed away on Monday, November 21, 2022 at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.  She was born on May 7, 1963 in Aberdeen to the late Roy Miller Tucker and Nancy Jones Tucker.  Patty was a graduate of Oak Hill Academy and was also a graduate of MUW, earning a bachelor’s degree in education.  She married Tommy Dahlem on August 6, 1983.  Patty was a longtime Kindergarten teacher a Hamilton Elementary School.  Patty devoted her life to not only her husband and children, but to every child that would come through her classroom.  With nearly 32 years as an educator, Patty became a trusted and relied upon pillar of the community.  Patty loved every moment spent with her family.  After the grandchildren came along, she spent most of her time as a doting grandmother.  Patty showed affection, love and encouragement to all she knew.  Above all, she was a faithful Christian and was a member of Center Hill Baptist Church, keeping the Nursery on Wednesday nights.  Each year she looked forward to serving during VBS.  Patty’s departure will most definitely leave a void in the heart’s of her family, her school and the community but we trust that she is now in the presence of her Savior. 

Patty is survived by her husband of 39 years, Tommy Dahlem; daughter, Kate Dahlem Allsup (Cody); son, Kyle Thomas Dahlem (Reagan); grandsons, Konner Ming and Reed Dahlem; siblings, Roy Tucker, Jr. (Rhonda), Donald Tucker (Mary Ann), May Bryan (Chris) and James Tucker; special sisters, Charlotte Wilson (late Larry Wilson), Sonya Cockerham (Tracey) and Mechelle Welch (Danny); a slew of nieces, nephews and students.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Nancy Tucker; Allen Bryan (brother in law). Loyd Dahlem (father in law) and Melanie Dahlem Martin (sister in law).

Funeral services will be held at 3 PM on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at Center Hill Baptist Church with Bro. Terry Edwards and Bro. Dennis Smithey officiating.  Burial will follow in Center Hill Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Ryan Tucker, Elijah Tucker, Matthew Funderburk, Brad Funderburk, Hunter Dahlem, Ethan Dahlem, Caleb Martin, Luke Martin, Mason Welch, Austin Welch, Tucker Welch, Grayson Cockerham and Evan Hawkins.  Her former students will be honorary pallbearers.

Visitation will be prior to the service on Wednesday at the church from 1 PM until 2:45 PM
