Peggy Funderburk English

Peggy Jean Funderburk English, 70, passed away at her residence in Aberdeen on Wednesday, May 7, 2025.  Peggy was born in Monroe County on July 15, 1954 to the late Roscoe and Loreda Moffatt Funderburk.  She was a graduate of Aberdeen High School and married George English on July 28, 1978.  Peggy worked several years in the area garment industry, part time at Allmond Printing and retired from the United States Postal Service after 20 years service.  Peggy loved her family fiercely and was a devoted grandmother to her 3 granddaughters.  She enjoyed working in her flower gardens in her yard and always loved when Christmas came and she could decorate her home.  

Peggy is survived by her husband, George English, Aberdeen; daughter, Brandy Haney (Jonny), Hamilton; son, Chad English (Holly), Aberdeen; brother, Jimmy Funderburk, Hamilton; grandchildren, Lillie Haney, Chloe Haney and Joanna English; a host of nieces and nephews.  

In addition to her parents, Peggy is preceded in death by her siblings, Bonnie Roberts, Gary Funderburk and Ronnie Funderburk.

Funeral Services will be held at 12 PM on Saturday, May 10, 2025 at Tisdale Lann Memorial Funeral Home with Bro. Robert Fowlkes officiating.  Burial will follow in New Prospect Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Matt Funderburk, Brad Funderburk, Tony Bailey, John Allmond, Sidney Allmond and Rob English.  

Visitation will be prior to the service on Saturday from 10:30 AM until 12 PM.
