Regina Lynn Hodges

May 30, 1961 — May 31, 2026

Nettleton

Regina Lynn Gray Hodges, 65, of Nettleton, MS passed away on May 31, 2026 at the NMMC-Tupelo. She was born om May 30, 1961 in Tishomingo County to parents Dexter Wayne Gray and Wanda Jane (Ware) Gray. Regina was a loving wife, mother, devoted Christian, proud Mimi, faithful friend, a fun loving sister and sister-in-law, a wonderful aunt and a sweet Grammie to Josie, the grand-puppy. She was an active and faithful member of Crosspointe Fellowship Church where she played the piano on the praise and worship team. She was a prayer warrior for many and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Regina was raised in Tishomingo, MS  alongside her sister Robyn. She attended Tishomingo Elementary and Tishomingo High School where she was part of the band. Her love for music started at a young age. She began taking piano lessons in elementary school, then as teenager, she played the piano at Highland Baptist Church where her family attended. While in the band at THS she played the clarinet in the marching band and also twirled the rifle. One of her sister's funniest memories was when Regina decided to practice twirling the rifle in the bathroom at home because it had a great mirror. She threw it up into the air, whacked the light and took out the electric heater. It hasn't worked since! She was voted homecoming queen by her peers during her Senior year. Growing up, she loved to play softball with church, peers and anyone else who would let her. She was very competitive and played co-ed many times. After graduating high school, she attended Northeast Community College for a semester and very soon met the love of her life, Steven Lee  Hodges. They met at a friend's wedding, dated every weekend for awhile, then got married on October 5, 1980 and moved to Nettleton.

Regina had various jobs from furniture factories to the hospital to her final years at Cadence Bank. After a few years they had two boys, Charles Neal Hodges, who married Stacy and Jordan Lucas Hodges, who married Claudia. Neal and Stacy gave Regina two precious grandkids, Blaze Jaxon and Natalie Brooke. Steve and Regina were married for 43 years. Regina's love for music continued into her adult years, she played piano, banjo and guitar. In the early years of marriage, she played and sang with a small band for various events . She shared the gift of playing music with her children. They are both amazing musicians who honor the Lord with their gifts. You might also have caught her playing first base at a softball tournament until the wee hours of the morning.  She also loved to cross-stitch and eventually learned to crochet. She loved to give away her crocheted afghans and other various items. She enjoyed reading and cooking. She also loved to laugh! She had a way of making you feel comfortable and at home while you were around her. For anyone who knew or met Regina, you found out pretty quickly there's two things that have sustained her all her life, one, she had a real, faithfull relationship with Jesus Christ. She asked Jesus to be her Savior as a teenager and was baptized. She believed He died for her, gave her resurrection life and eternal life. She tried to live her life by the Word of God, thankful for her blessings and she had a true servant's heart. She loved others well and sought to be a true friend. She was a giver in ways no one will ever know. Second, she loved her family and would do absolutely anything for them. They were the light of her life, especially her grandchildren. She prayed for them and loved them through hard times. She loved spending time with them and was there to support them in whatever they were doing. She honored her mom and dad and taught her boys to do the same. She lived in front of them as a true Proverbs 31 woman. Proverbs 31:25-26 "She is clothed with strength and dignity and she laughs without fear of the future. When she speaks, her words are wise and she gives instruction with kindness."
