Robert Morgan, Sr.

Robert G Morgan (Bob) 92 passed away in his home on December 21, 2025. Bob was born September 9, 1933 to Sara Griffin Morgan and Joseph T. Morgan in Aberdeen, MS. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 64 years, Glenda Fisher Morgan and by his brother, Joseph T. Morgan II.(Fella). Bob was born and raised in the Griffin home in Aberdeen, MS. He attended Mississippi State and Mississippi Southern before meeting his love, Glenda, at a dance in Okolona, MS. He married Glenda, September 8, 1953, and moved to Detroit where the married couple settled briefly. At 29, he was hired at Plough, Inc. making Memphis, Tn. his home. Bob traveled the states, working his way to Regional Sales Manager under the guidance of Abe Plough for 16 years. After retiring from Plough, he started his own general merchandising company, R.G.M. Inc and continued working in sales. Becoming active in the community, he was an active member at Asbury United Methodist Church serving on the administrative counsel and Board of Trustees for many years. Continuing his work in the community, Bob joined the East Shelby County Republican Club where he made meaningful, like-minded friends serving on several committees. He became president of SEMBA (South East Memphis Betterment Association) and was founder and director of P.A.C.A (Police and Citizens Alliance) both serving as an intermediary between local schools, churches, businesses, political leaders, and law enforcement. Bob served on the Board of Trustees for Dorothy’s Place, an Alzheimer Day Center. Bob served on the Mayor's Task Force Committee on Education and in 2010 was a candidate for the Memphis Shelby County School District board member. He was an eloquent letter writer, a gifted speaker, devoted father, a dear friend and Daddy Bob to many. His favorite activities included, fly fishing, Friday morning breakfast at Perkins with his friends, contributing support for church events, popping popcorn, swinging with Sam, and having an afternoon beer on his porch while watching the cars drive by.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, December 29, 2025 at Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home in Aberdeen with Rev. Virginia Jones Finzel officiating. Burial will follow in the Odd Fellows Rest Cemetery.

Bob leaves behind Baby Sister, Sara Lepicier of Aberdeen, MS, three sons, Robert G Morgan II (Kathy) of Atlanta GA, James F Morgan (Debra) of Aberdeen, MS, Walton Crawford Morgan (Debbie)of Greensboro, NC, a daughter, Ruth E Parrott of Memphis, TN, 12 Grandchildren, 13 Great-grandchildren and his dog and BEST buddy, Sam.

Visitation will be on Monday from 1 p.m. until the service time.

Bob was a big supporter of St. Jude, and the family would appreciate in lieu of flowers that any donations be made to St Jude or the American Cancer Society.
