Dr. Roscoe Longino Ivy, Jr., 78, passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson. He was born on September 23, 1944 in Lincoln County to the late Roscoe Longino Ivy, Sr. and Sally Carlisle Ivy. Roscoe was a graduate of Brookhaven High School. He gave his life to Christ many years ago and was a faithful member of Southside Baptist Church in Aberdeen. He found a love for traveling, and with a servant’s heart, traveled to many countries doing the Lord’s work. He also went on many mission trips state side as well. He also had a passion for the less fortunate, serving many years as a member of the Aberdeen Lions Club. Roscoe knew the power of God’s word and was a proud member of the Gideons International. Everyone knew Roscoe as a quiet man who enjoyed pulling up a seat, cup of coffee in hand and just listening to others talk.
