Services will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, January 27, 2026 at Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home in Aberdeen.  Visitation will be from noon until the service time on Tuesday.  

Shirley Ann Brown, 74, passed away on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at River Place Nursing Center in Amory. Born on June 24, 1951, in Monroe County, she was a daughter to Grover Clinton Sykes and Minnie Grace Ophelia Tubb Sykes. Shirley worked several jobs in the area while she was also a homemaker. She enjoyed all types of music and reading and working cross word puzzles. In addition, she liked gardening and crocheting. She was a member of Athens Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home in Aberdeen with Bro. Stanley Blaylock and Bro. Steve Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in the Howell Cemetery.

She is survived by her son, Dwayne Brown (Carla), Becker; her daughter, Karen Roberts, Starkville; brothers, Larry Sykes (Mary Nett), Clinton Sykes (Maxine), Howard Sykes, and Johnny Brewer all of Aberdeen; sisters, Cathy Runnels (Rodger), Aberdeen and Peggy Jackson (Steve), Pearl; grandchildren, Savannah Brown Welch (Dylan), Garrett Brown, Alexander Cole Roberts (Sara), and Christopher Jason “CJ” Burrough (Madelyn); great grandchildren, Weston Blaze Burrough and Hudson Lee Burrough; and special friends, Tamika Stone, Rachel Dodd, Tara Leech, and Jercil Weaver.

She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; son-in-law, Christopher Alan Roberts; two sisters, Martha Carol West and Diana June Faulkner; and best friends, Peggy Hayes and Ella Cunningham.

Pallbearers will be her family and friends.

Visitation will be Tuesday from noon until the service time.
