Sylvia Simmons

Sylvia Jean Lee Simmons, 80, passed away on Monday, September 8, 2025 at North Mississippi Medical Center-West Point. Born in Macon on March 15, 1945, she was a daughter, to W.S. Lee and Ethel Vernon Lee. She grew up in West Point where she graduated high school and she was the widow of Ronald Simmons. She worked the family dairy farm, and she was an exceptional cook. Her hobbies included flower gardening, and she was a Christian who was devoted to studying her Bible.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Oddfellows Rest Cemetery.

She is survived by her son, Larry Simmons (Tracy) of Tallahassee, FL; her daughter, Theresa Lee Simmons Bouyer (John), Orange, CA; her sisters, Jan Sanders, Peggy Adams, and Brenda Mitchell; and her grandson, John Lawrence Bouyer.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a sister, Rebecca Branch.

Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. on Friday evening at the funeral home and prior to the service on Saturday.
