Wayne Barnes

Allen Wayne Barnes, 64, passed away at his residence in Nettleton on Wednesday, October 18, 2023.  He was born in Tupelo on May 17, 1959 to the late Orestus and Valeria Wealley Barnes.  Wayne grew up in Nettleton and worked a number of years doing woodwork and building cabinets.  Being raised in a family of 11, Wayne enjoyed time spent with his family, fishing and hunting, playing his guitar and singing country and gospel music.

Wayne is survived by his daughter, Christy Ann Ashley (Willie) of Manilla, AR; son, Teddy Wayne Barnes (Melissa) of Gosnell, AR; grandchildren, Gracelynn Elizabeth Barnes, Teddy Barnes, Jr., Leslie Corcoran and Vronika Whisnant; great grandchildren, Madilynn Corcoran and Everleigh Corcoran; sisters, Lucille Barnes West, Patricia Barnes Williams and Peggy Barnes Sullivan; brothers, Quinton "Lee" Barnes (Margaret) and Randy Barnes (Connie); a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Wayne is preceded in death by his sister, Pauline Barnes McDaniel; brothers, Harold, Hurshel, Horace and Charles Clinton Barnes.

Funeral Services for Wayne will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, October 22, 2023 at Tisdale Lann Memorial Funeral Home in Nettleton with Bro. Ray Bennett officiating.  Burial will follow in Sumner Cemetery in Marietta.  Pallbearers will be Jeff Barnes, Brad Barnes, Tim Denton, Ryan Denton, Glenn Barnes, Michael Barnes and Donald Denton.

Visitation will be held on Sunday prior to the service from 12 noon until 1:45 PM.
